“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” (Mark Twain)Â

One of the characteristics of Liguria is that, despite being a small territory, it is possible, in just a few minutes, to experience and see an infinite number of small worlds and different landscapes, both on land and at sea. It is for this reason that this year I have decided, with the help of my brother Roberto, to give the possibility to those who wish to get to know and enter these small Ligurian realities with personalized tours in Portovenere, with a tour of the the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto; and Portofino.
Between Levanto and Portofino we will be able to admire the beauty of the sea around Framura, immerse ourselves in crystal clear waters to snorkel (equipment included!) at the Rocce rosse or Rocce bianche, observe ancient villages and hidden places visible only from the sea. In Portofino you will have the opportunity to go ashore and visit the mythical village which was called by the Romans “port of dolphins” (and who knows, during navigation we may not meet a group of these nice cetaceans!). This tiny village, already inhabited in Roman times, develops around an enchanting natural port, which like an amphitheater is surrounded by typical colored Ligurian houses, a castle, churches and an uncontaminated park. Far from major arteries such as motorways, provincial roads or train stations, Portofino enjoys a peace that recalls poetry and contemplation of the beauties of creation.
If, on the other hand, you wish to fully explore the coast towards the Cinque Terre, we can take you as far as Portovenere and the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. From Levanto we can head towards the Cinque Terre, which we will admire from the sea of the homonymous bay. Along the coast we can stop to snorkel (equipment included!) at the Bozi di Punta Pineda, to finally arrive at the “port of Venus” (as the Romans baptized it), a Ligurian jewel that is worth getting to know on foot as well as from the sea. This enchanting corner of Liguria was already inhabited in prehistoric times, and later the Romans also established maritime bases there (including a temple dedicated to the goddess Venus, hence the name of the village). Once disembarked you can visit the suggestive church of San Pietro, in typical Genoese Gothic style, without forgetting the monumental Doria castle and the beauty of the village with its medieval alleyways and colorful houses overlooking the port. From the sea we will be able to admire the beauty of the 3 islands that surround Portovenere: Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. At the beginning of the Middle Ages, 1400 years ago, a hermit named Venerio chose the island of Tino as a place to retire in prayer and contemplation until his death (which occurred in 630).
Whichever tour you choose, on board you will have the opportunity to taste local and organic specialties of the Val di Vara km 0 (salami and cheese), local products of Levanto (focaccia, gattafin, savory pies) Is possible gluten free products, and various drinks (local white wine, prosecco, beer, soft drinks, fruit juices). In the morning tour, you will be offered a breakfast based on tea, coffee, milk with products from the Antica Pasticceria Bianchi, one of the historical symbols of Levanto. The boat that will introduce you to Eastern Liguria is an Apreamare 750 , it’s called Eolo, it is equipped with all comforts: large sundeck, cushions, large awning, shower, coofee machine, refrigerators, ladder, snorkelling equipment (mask, snorkel, floating tubes).
